HOW DO I PURCHASE TICKETS?
Tickets for Shimmering Solstice at Old Westbury Gardens Presented by Catholic Health must be purchased online.

WHEN CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS?
Members of Old Westbury Gardens may purchase tickets beginning August 16, 2021 during our Special Early Bird Sale. For the general public, tickets go on sale September 1, 2021.

WHAT ARE THE TICKET PRICES?
Prices do vary, based on day of the week and the date selected. Additional service fees may also apply.

• Adult Peak $32.95, Child (3-17) Peak $17.95

• Adult Off-Peak $29.95, Child (3-17) Off-Peak $16,95

• Senior Monday $24.95. Not valid on December 27 (ages 62 and above)

• Off-peak dates are as follows: November 20, 21, 28, 29; December 1, 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 15, 19, 20, 22; January 3, 5, 9.

• Any time/Any Day Experience $75

DO OLD WESTBURY GARDENS MEMBERS NEED TO BUY TICKETS?
Yes.  Old Westbury Gardens members need to purchase tickets and can do so online.  Members are eligible to purchase peak tickets at off-peak prices as well as receive a discount on food and beverages. Library passes and other reciprocal benefits are not accepted for this special event.

THE DATE I WANT IS SOLD OUT. CAN I BUY TICKETS AT THE DOOR, DAY OF?
Unfortunately, you may not.

SHOULD I ARRIVE IN ADVANCE OF MY TICKETED TIME SLOT?
Yes, we strongly advise that you plan on arriving at the gate 15 minutes prior to your entry time. Please allow time to park and to check in. To provide you with the best experience, entry is granted based on the time designated on your ticket.

DO I HAVE TO LEAVE BEFORE THE NEXT ENTRY GROUP COMES IN?
Not at all! Once you are admitted, you do NOT have a time limit to complete your visit.

IF I AM DELAYED AND MISS MY SLOT, CAN I JOIN A LATER SLOT?
We will try our best at Old Westbury Gardens to accommodate you on the next available time slot within Shimmering Solstice’s scheduled hours for that day. Again, if you are coming to us from a long distance, please ensure you leave enough time to arrive on time.

WHAT IF I CAN’T USE MY TICKET? CAN I GET A REFUND?
Unfortunately, the tickets for Shimmering Solstice are non-refundable so please choose your date and time slot carefully! Old Westbury Gardens is unable to offer exchanges or refunds once Shimmering Solstice tickets have been purchased.  In the event you are unable to use your ticket, please consider your purchase a valued donation to the Old Westbury Gardens, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.

CAN I CHANGE THE DATE OF MY TICKETS?
Shimmering Solstice tickets are not changeable. If you are not able to attend your initial date, please consider your ticket as a valued donation to Old Westbury Gardens, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE WEATHER IS BAD? WILL SHIMMERING SOLSTICE BE CANCELLED?
Shimmering Solstice is an outdoor illuminated event. If the weather presents a hazard, posing a risk to your safety, any decision to cancel will be made by 2 p.m. on the day of the event. If Shimmering Solstice at Old Westbury Gardens Presented by Catholic Health is cancelled, you will be notified by email, and you will be informed of the rebooking process. We advise you to check the website for the latest updates before you travel to the show.

IF I AM UNABLE TO ATTEND ON A DIFFERENT DAY, CAN I GET A REFUND?
If Shimmering Solstice at Old Westbury Gardens Presented by Catholic Health is cancelled in line with the show’s cancellation policy, and ticketholders are not able to attend an alternative night offered, then a refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We can also offer a voucher for the following year.

I HAVE LOST MY TICKET, WHAT CAN I DO?
If you’ve misplaced your tickets to Shimmering Solstice at Old Westbury Gardens Presented by Catholic Health or would like us to resend your E-Tickets, please contact us at tickets@oldwestburygardens.org or 516.333.0048. Please note that you will need to have your Reference Number on hand, and this will render your original tickets invalid.

GROUPS
For groups of 20 or more, we offer a discount of 15% only for off-peak nights. PLEASE NOTE: All group reservations must be made by phone. No buses allowed.

WHERE DO I PARK?
Parking is free at Old Westbury Gardens. Just enter through our main gate at 71 Old Westbury Road. Quick tip: Carefully review the driving instructions from your GPS.  Please make sure it takes you to 71 Old Westbury Road.  If it takes you to Post Road that is incorrect.  That is solely a service entrance and you will not be allowed to enter.

If you have purchased Premier Parking, simply enter through the main gate and follow the signs. Please be prepared to show your Premier Parking Ticket. Premier Parking is available for just $25 and is included in the Any Time/Any Day ticket.

Please plan to arrive at the gate 15 minutes prior to your entry time slot, which will allow time to park, and for checking in.

DO YOU HAVE ACCESSIBLE PARKING?
Yes, accessible parking spaces are available.

IS THERE A DROP OFF AREA FOR RIDESHARE?
All cars must enter through the main gate. For taxis and rideshares, please follow instructions for the designated drop-off and pick-up area.

HOW LONG IS THE WALK?
This amazing experience is self-directed, and it covers just a little over a mile. Please note there are no shuttles or tours involved during this self-guided walkthrough event.  We strongly suggest dressing comfortably and sensible for an outdoor event.

HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD WE ALLOW FOR THIS EVENT?
That depends on your pace and how often you stop and take it all in. We don’t want you to feel rushed! As a general rule, you should allow about 60 – 75 minutes.

ARE THE PATHS DARK OR COVERED?
In some areas, for dramatic effect, the lighting will be low level, as part of the immersive experience. You are encouraged to bring along a flashlight just in case of an emergency. But it should not be used unless it is necessary, as it may interfere with the effect.

The path is not covered. Also remember, this is an outdoor illuminated event, and the weather may be inclement. Please wear appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear for winter.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS?
Yes, we encourage you to! And by all means, please use hashtag #ShimmeringSolstice to share your experience with family and friends. However, while waiting for that perfect shot, please be conscious not to block pathways or obstruct the view of those around you. A few more notes on photography: No tripods are allowed; photographs and videos are not to be used for commercial purposes; no night commercial photography is allowed during Shimmering Solstice; and permits will not be issued.

CAN I BRING MY DRONE?
For your safety, and that of others, drones are strictly prohibited.

ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
Family pets are not allowed. Only ADA-designated service animals are permitted.

IS THE TRAIL ACCESSIBLE FOR WHEELCHAIR USERS?/IS THERE ADA ACCESS?
Shimmering Solstice is a walk-through experience in our gardens. Please be aware that the paths are made up of grass and gravel, and include inclines and occasional steps. Please note these specific paths are NOT handicapped accessible.

Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices will not be provided and cannot be rented onsite.

WHAT KIND OF FOOD AND DRINKS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE?
There will be a selection of hot foods, hot and cold beverages and assorted snacks provided by Lessing’s. To see the full menu, click here.

NOTE: Menu is subject to change. All food and beverage items will be available to purchase at the entrance to the event, and select items will also be available to purchase along the illuminated trail. Only credit and debit cards will be accepted.

WHAT SHOPPING FACILITIES ARE THERE?
Shimmering Solstice is a first-of-its-kind event for Long Island. Merchandise will be available for purchase.
